Disability Pride Dance
February 24th would have been Stella Young's 35th birthday. What better time to join us in a celebration of Disability Pride by gathering at the Amphitheatre at Fed Square in the heart of Melbourne and dancing like nobody's watching. Bring your friends and lovers, bring your wheelchairs, canes, and assistance animals. Put on your brightest party loving clothing and celebrate. We want to remember the spirit of Stella who loved to dance, so be ready to join in and dance, boogie, pogo - whatever suits your mood. This is a free public event.
At 4pm there will be a screening of Defiant Lives (a feature documentary about the rise and triumph of the disability rights movement) at ACMI. This is a ticketed event and tickets are available at the box office. Wheelchair users should book in advance to ensure a space is available in the cinema.https://www.acmi.net.au/events/defiant-lives/
