A graduate of the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Theatre and Media Studies) at La Trobe University, emerging journalist and theatre-maker Lakshmi Ganapathy has performed at Melbourne Fringe, AsiaTOPA, Darebin FUSE and La Mama’s War-Rak/Banksia Festival, and created content for La Trobe University, Indian Link, ArtsHub, RMITV and C31. Through her practice, Lakshmi gives voice to unheard perspectives and seeks to democratise theatre, working in unconventional spaces with community members or other emerging artists to tell sincere and perceptive stories. A passionate advocate for accessible arts, in 2020 she helped run various campaigns to save theatre at La Trobe, and is the secretary of the Australian Women Directors Alliance.
