Jets

Jets is a multifunctional creative arts youth facility, delivering a range of programs and activities to young people and the community. Jets provides access to music industry standard equipment; enables multimedia projects, and facilitates a range of creative art workshops.
The focus of Jets is to provide a safe place for young people, to promote social connectedness, build personal and technical skills and to encourage self expression through music and the creative arts. Over the years, in response to community need, Jets has created a variety of programs that have contributed to employment pathways, personal skills development and general well being of local young people.

Banyule 100

Banyule 100 is a project that celebrates youth in Banyule. We are on the lookout for 100 young people (or adults who work with young people), who have a story to tell. We are especially looking for people who are committed to serving their community, are entrepreneurial, talented in the arts and/or have overcome adversity. We would like to celebrate these people by taking a portrait photo and by writing a short article about them. These articles with photos will be posted on our website and will be displayed in a series of exhibitions over the coming months. We want to celebrate all that is great about young people in Banyule! We are on the look out for nominations of people for the project, as well as young people who are interested in writing or photography to get involved. Go to www.banyule100.com to find out more.

SHYNE (Showcasing How Young people INspire and Engage)

The SHYNE project is a snapshot in time of young people's culture, their aspirations, inspirations and contributions to the life and fibre of Banyule and how they can influence and engage other young people in positive ways and educate the broader community to dispel negative images of young people. This project is funded by the Victorian Government through the ENGAGE program.
SHYNE is working with young people to provide them opportunities to learn new skills and have a voice in the broader Banyule community. For further information contact naomi.simmonds@banyule.vic.gov.au

Youth Engagement Officers

Youth Engagement officers are youth workers who support and foster young peoples' active involvement and connectedness to the community.
Our Youth team can provide information, referral and advocacy to young people and their families, and build partnerships between local young people and youth agencies to encourage positive life choices. We can provide short term individual support to help you connect with local services or assist you through tough times.

We support youth programs, events and services and aim to develop positive youth outcomes through accessing funding and resources.

If you are a young person living, going to school, working or socialising in the Banyule community and you would like information or support, you can contact the youth service and speak to one of our youth workers.

They are available to assist with issues or direct you to the information you need. This is a non-discriminative, free and confidential service to assist YOU.
