Beatmaking Undefeated

Want to lear how to make beats??

Beatmaking Undefeated is an 8 week workshop desigend to get you started using Ableton Live to make original compositions and beats, as well as to record and produce tracks. Whether you're a beginner or a seased rhythm warrior, this skill-share style workshop will enchance your understanding of beats, how you make them and how to use them in any genre from rap to folk to punk to experimental music. Even if you haven't made music before, Ableton makes it easy for you to get started, and Beatmaking Undefeated will show you how.


Computers, Ableton Live, Ableton Push controllers and a fully functioning studio will be provided.

STREAT's next Main Course Program is now open!

Main Course is a fully supported program run by STREAT for helping young people thrive. It includes on-the-job training and mentoring, personal and professional development workshops, a TAFE training option that provides units of competency towards a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, social excursions, and case managed support (including links to specialist service providers). Upon graduating from Main Course, participants have the option of either going on to complete their Certificate III, or getting some help finding a job.

Be heard: Young People in Separated Families

The Australian Institute of Family Studies is conducting a new study to find out how family law services can best help children when their parents separate. They would like to hear from young people aged 10-17 years and a parent about their experiences.

Participants will receive a $30 gift voucher and their parent a $20 gift voucher.

Busking in Banyule

Banyule Business is encouraging buskers to perform in various shopping precincts throughout Banyule until Wednesday, 31 January 2018 as part of an extended pilot. The locations for the busking activity during this extended pilot cover Eaglemont, Heidelberg, Heidelberg West, Ivanhoe, Ivanhoe East, Greensborough, Lower Plenty, Macleod, Montmorency, Rosanna and Watsonia.
