Youth Writing Contest
The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and its 2020 Vision Initiative is pleased to announce its fourth writing contest for youth. We invite you to present your views on how we can renew agriculture for better food and better health.
The contest is open to young people between the ages of 14 and 18 who care about solving global hunger and poverty. Use your writing skills to write an essay, short story, poem, open letter to a national leader, short play, or other text on the following question: How can we use agriculture to produce more food, generate food of better quality, and improve people's nutrition and health?
The first-place winner will receive US$500, plus 25 copies of the booklet in which the essay will be published. Runners-up will receive US$250, plus 10 copies of the booklet in which the essays will be published. The booklet will be posted on IFPRI's website and featured at an international conference on the theme that will take place in New Delhi, India, February 10-12, 2011.
