Want to lear how to make beats??

Beatmaking Undefeated is an 8 week workshop desigend to get you started using Ableton Live to make original compositions and beats, as well as to record and produce tracks. Whether you're a beginner or a seased rhythm warrior, this skill-share style workshop will enchance your understanding of beats, how you make them and how to use them in any genre from rap to folk to punk to experimental music. Even if you haven't made music before, Ableton makes it easy for you to get started, and Beatmaking Undefeated will show you how.

 

Busking in Banyule

Banyule Business is encouraging buskers to perform in various shopping precincts throughout Banyule until Wednesday, 31 January 2018 as part of an extended pilot. The locations for the busking activity during this extended pilot cover Eaglemont, Heidelberg, Heidelberg West, Ivanhoe, Ivanhoe East, Greensborough, Lower Plenty, Macleod, Montmorency, Rosanna and Watsonia.

This workshop will teach you the power of poetry and performance to make your voice heard.

Successful performing artists will help guide your writing and performance technique, followed by a professional recording session at Decibels Studio.

This workshop is held over two weekends in April and is open to anyone who lives, works or studies in Darebin aged 12-18.

Push Songs 2017 – Applications Now Open!

Push Songs’ innovative and inspiring song writing mentoring program continues into its 9th year throughout February, March and April 2017 and again it’s FREE!

Successful applicants will take part in FOUR, one on one song writing workshops, plus be invited to join the Tuesday Night Song Club and meet and share ideas and live performance opportunities with fellow song writers.

Watsonia Shopping Centre Busking Project

A pilot busking project is being trialled at various locations in the Watsonia Shopping Centre, through to the end of May.

For the duration of this trial period, the usual busking fee of $160 has been reduced to $20, for a permit of up to 30 days.

The Council’s liability insurance covers buskers that do not have their own insurance. Go to our website for more information.

New mentoring program for women: SQUAD – Applications now open.

Victorian youth music organisation The Push Inc is adding to its suite of Music Industry Mentoring programs in 2016 to include a new program for women performers. The new program SQUAD will provide women performers aged 18 – 25 with the chance to be teamed up with industry professionals, attend special masterclasses and an exclusive development weekend where participants will work on craft and career with a range of experts.

A collective of emcee’s and producers from Melbourne’s north, New Hope sets a story of Melbourne untold by many of their contemporaries. Each from diverse and unique backgrounds, the New Hope collective are not afraid to speak their mind and put it to record.
