STREAT's next Main Course Program is now open!

Main Course is a fully supported program run by STREAT for helping young people thrive. It includes on-the-job training and mentoring, personal and professional development workshops, a TAFE training option that provides units of competency towards a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, social excursions, and case managed support (including links to specialist service providers). Upon graduating from Main Course, participants have the option of either going on to complete their Certificate III, or getting some help finding a job.

Cert II in Visual Art

The Pavilion School has an opportunity for Indigenous young people to take part in a fully sponsored Certificate II in Visual Arts that is led by Central Queensland University. The Visual Arts project hopes to increase opportunities for Indigenous young people, to further their education, training. The project has a digital technology component that will develop links to local industry. We have twelve places available to take part with full sponsorship. The course will involve hands-on art and technology mentoring by experts, as well as some online learning.

Getting Down to Business 2017

Are you a young person aged 16-25 and wanting to start your own business?
You may be eligible for the Getting Down to Business program!

This program has worked with young people who have started businesses in IT, new technologies, solar energy, fashion, construction, engineering, publishing, design, hospitality, food and many others!

Tech Specs: Sound and Lighting Training Program

Learn the basics of live sound and lighting operation in a FREE eight-week course with Arts Centre Melbourne’s Production team. Get a transferable VET unit of competency in OHS and work as part of the production team on a live hip-hop event with the Dig Deep collective.

The School Leavers Guide is a document headed up by the LLEN alongside community organisations who work with young people in the local area.
This year it has gone online for the first time.  

The document is useful for any young person leaving school – be that at the end of year of 12 or at an earlier stage.  It includes info on education options, employment and further supports.
