Opportunities for young people with a disability through CYDA

Table of contents

CYDA stands for Children & Young People with Disability Australia. CYDA is the national representative organisation for children and young people with disability aged 0 to 25 years. They host a range of events, programs, activities for young people with disability and do lots of work around supporting young people and advocating for better outcomes.

They have some workshops and the National Youth Disability Summit coming up! Check out more information about the Summit & other paid workshop opportunities below.

National Youth Disability Summit

CYDA is hosting the inaugural National Youth Disability Summit from September 29 – October 3. This event has been co-designed by young people with disability and is free for all young people with disability to attend.

The Summit will run over 5 days, with each day focusing on a different theme (Education, Employment, Mental Health, NDIS and Housing, and Awareness, Access and Inclusion). This will be a fantastic opportunity to connect with other young people with disability, and the broader sector.

The Save-the-Date website is currently live (you can access it HERE).

Paid Workshop on the Future of CYDA

CYDA are looking to connect with young people with disability who are currently not actively engaged with CYDA through a series of workshops in September.

These workshops will discuss the experiences and aspirations of young people with disability that CYDA should know about, and the insights gathered during the workshops will be used to inform CYDA’s strategic plan and hopefully increase our meaningful youth engagement.

The workshop will be 1 hour in duration and will be hosted over Zoom. Participants will be paid $50.00 (via gift voucher) in recognition of their contribution.
