NGV Teen Council

The National Gallery of Victoria is looking for local teens to join its first-ever NGV Teen Council and help shape a program for their peers.

Over one year, the council of 14- to 17-year-olds will exercise their creativity, experience the inner workings of the gallery and grow their professional and personal skills in the process.

2018 - Musos @ Jets

Join our Muso @ Jets program FOR 2018

The program will run: 

Mondays from 4- 6

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 - 7

This is a great opportunity for bands and individual artists to come and rehearse at jets, start bands, tap into mentoring, support, free rehearsals, seek our performance opportunities and join the creative Jets community.

There are free fully equipped rehearsal rooms for Jets Crew Members


Free Wellbeing Coaching for Young People

NEMAI are offering a free wellbeing coaching program for people over the age of 16 who are experiencing an increase in life stress, challenges, signs of anxiety and/or depression.

The program is 6 x 1hr coaching sessions to support people to enhance their wellbeing - to work out what is happening for them now (build awareness), where they want to be (visioning and goal setting), how to get there (*skill and strategies) and how to support their wellbeing into the future (resilience).

Street Art & New Hope Program

Street Art & New Hope Program for 2018 beginning at the end of February on Wednesday evenings,

Are you an aspiring rapper, beat maker, artist, freestyler or graffiti writer?

Get involved in our Street Art Program and have the opportunity to participate in ongoing projects.

Suited for young people aged 14 - 19 with an interest in graffiti & hip hop culture

Watsonia Pop Up Skate Park Evaluation

In January 2018, Council ran a Pop Up Skate Park in Ibbotson Street, Watsonia. The Pop Up Skate Park operated for 18 days and offered a range of activities for people of all ages. 

Council received a positive response from participants at the Skate Park but now we want to hear from the local community about their experience of the Pop Up Skate Park. 

We have developed two surveys, one for residents local to the skate park, and one for traders in Watsonia. Please partner with us to share your thoughts on this Council initiative 


Council receives VicHealth Grant

Banyule Youth Services along with Himilo Community Connect have received a $50000 grant!

We are looking for local Somali Australian young people to be involved. The project will be running all year and and you can be a part of some or all of it.
